Morzine summer activities
Although mainly a winter destination, Morzine has plenty to offer its tourists in summer as well. Whether into hiking on the high mountains in the area, or the more daring paragliding and mountain biking, Morzine is a good choice. Don’t worry, the lazier ones aren’t left out – you can always lay by the pool or visit the surroundings at your own pace.
When it comes to water, the mountain lakes around Morzine (Montriond Lake, Joux Plane Lake, and Lac des Mines d’Or) are a true delight. There are fishing facilities in the rivers and lakes, but a permit is required. More adventurous spirits can also try whitewater rafting or canoeing in Morzine. Besides plain hiking in Morzine, you might think of donkey trekking and even horse riding (Les Dérêches), hot air ballooning and bungee jumping (Nyon cable car).
There are also two cinemas in Morzine and they are open daily at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., and in case of bad weather conditions, they offer films at 2 p.m. as well. Apart from that, there are many bars and night clubs in Morzine, a Museum of Mechanical Music (Les Gets) and plenty of attractions for children.
